The first leg of 2021 does offer you the best of both worlds. Easy day sail trips on inshore waters followed by some longer sea passages. At the end of this course you have covered most of the Dutch coastline, Making this a perfect leg to practice your voyage planning and coastal navigational skills. Due to the length off some tracks they will qualify for your RYA requirements in tidal waters.
The sea days will make you familiar with all aspects of sailing at sea, teamwork and participation is encouraged. The experience is a learning event on it's own.
"Het paard van marken" a lighthouse that will be crossed on our way to the IJselmeer.
There is one factor we can not control and that's the weather. After a day with a lot of rain it's time to take off our sailing gear and head out for a drink in the local pub.
Sunset over the North Sea during a leg to Scheveningen.
After some sea days it's time to relax a bit. After a nice canal cruise and a short stop in Middelburg we will continue to the Veerse meer. Were a BBQ setup will be ready for us on one of the small islands.
Nice food with some great pairing wines.
Wildlife on the Oosterschelde during low water. Due to currents up to 2.7 knots, voyage planning is important during legs over the Oosterschelde.
