Safety is everywhere on board from making sure your shoes are non slip to having a smoke detector in each cabin.
As part of having a commercial Master Unlimited licence I do have all STCW required certificates including medical first aid, medical care, Basic Safety, Advance Fire fighting, Etc.
Juliet is equipped with the following safety equipment:

Smoke Alarms in all cabins including Carbon Monoxide in the aft cabin.
Life ring
Life vest's
Flares smoke floats and signal rockets
life raft
Epirb
TPA for 2 Persons
A DSC VHF radio (still to be installed but already on order)

Bilge pump electric and manual
Safety knife
A well equipped first aid kit with all required medication.
An Iridium phone is available on board, A great reliable communication tool during all kind of emergency's. It can also be used to let home know you miss calculated the current and will be 3 hours late ;) Or to receive updated weather reports.
When sitting down during calm conditions a life jacket can be worn but is not mandatory, When moving around at sea with a fresh breeze a life jacket will be mandatory. Comfortable life jackets are provided.
Swimming in full sailing gear is almost impossible, a life jacket will inflate within seconds after you hit the water and keep you afloat until you can be saved. This will be trained during the course.
